Taken from the title of one of my favourite books, this session explores love, kindness, compassion.
For ourself, for others, for anything that arises in fact, compassion even for our suffering.
Do we overlook how entirely miraculous everything is - the fact that there are experiences being had, emotions being felt, sounds being heard and thoughts being thought - if we really stop to consider them, even the challenging ones, aren't they beyond explanation?
The compassion practices were something that came late to my own practise - I was far more into the willpower to carry my practise along. But then one of my favourite teachers said - you will always turn your back on the miracle of things until you really fall in love with your practice. Whilst you love distractions more you will always be distracted by the superficial worries, cravings and problems of the world.
He was right :)
